Recently, a Disney blogging pal invited me to be part of a series of posts on Finding Dory building up to the release of the movie. Thanks, Becca Robins! It’s been a fun challenge. To check out other posts in this series, check out Finding Dory All June!
Dory, the adorable and forgetful little blue tang fish from Finding Nemo, has been in the Walt Disney World parks for some time. In fact, right outside the Seas pavilion, Dory swims in a sea of grass to pose for photos with guests. Dory is a major part of the Finding Nemo show in the Animal Kingdom as well as a star in The Seas with Nemo and Friends and a guest in Turtle Talk with Crush.
To celebrate the release of 2016’s new movie Finding Dory, there will be a few more guest appearances. This summer, new friends from Finding Dory will join Crush in Turtle Talk to interact with human friends watching the show. Destiny, Bailey and Hank join Crush, Squirt, Nemo, Merlin, Dory and other friends as they play with friends in the human tank.
As a special treat, guests in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland will have some unique opportunities to celebrate National Speak Like A Whale Day on June 17, 2016. On this special day, guests will be invited to participate in under the sea themed activities in both Disneyland’s Downtown Disney as well as Disney Springs in Walt Disney World. There will be a party in both locations with live DJs, games, give-away’s and a Whale Speak University. A special button will be given to guests in the parks and on Disney cruise ships on June 17 to celebrate.
There are also a few surprise Finding Dory references throughout the parks, including this merchandise window in Hollywood Studios.
For those who might want to purchase some movie related merchandise to take home, no worries! A usual, Disney has the movie marketing tie-in all ready to go. The best selection I found was in the gift shop exiting The Seas pavilion. This shop had Finding Dory toys, clothes, art and books ready to go already.
For more information, please visit the official Disney Parks Blog. There are posts on the Turtle Talk Guest Appearances, Speak Like A Whale Day and a fun new post on the new Finding Dory Cookies.
Let’s finish this post with my favorite Finding Nemo / Finding Dory moment in the parks.
Many thanks to Becca Robins, of Love Our Crazy Life, for the invitation to participate in a series of blog posts leading up to the release of Finding Dory! To check out the other posts in this great series, visit Finding Dory PreRelease Posts.
Great tips! I love the Nemo ride!! It’s one of the first rides my little one went on last year and I can’t wait to take her back.
